Hello Fellow Foodies! If you are like me you are always looking for dinner ideas. A great resource for finding recipes and ideas for dinner is Pinterest. When I am looking I try to think of that I want chicken, beef, pasta etc and then search for chicken recipes… I decided that today I would compile a list of some dinner ideas for you guys that I found while searching around on Pinterest. I am always searching for dinner ideas so I figured I would share some of the recipes I have found with you. Here is a look at some delicious dinner ideas:

Food Pins of the Week: Cake Edition

Hey guys! I hope you are all having an amazing Saturday. We are having yet another storm here in NYC. I am starting to think that the now is never going to end. One of the things I love to do during snow storms is bake. I did some cookies this week and I am thinking maybe I should move on start thinking of other options. I have never attempted a cake but maybe it is time I tried. I have spent a lot of time looking at cakes on Pinterest and have pinned quite a few of them at this point. I am sure Jon would love to come home to a fresh-baked cake one of these days. Here is a look at my favorite cake recipes that I have found on Pinterest:

Valentines’ Kiss Cookies

Valentine's Kiss Cookies

I baked these cookies tonight to give to Jon for Valentine’s Day tomorrow. Obviously you can have them anytime of year but to me the kisses make it kind of a cute Valentine’s treat. They turned out a little golden around the edges so next time I may shave a minute off of the bake time. If you are looking for a last-minute cookie idea for tomorrow or just love cookies like I do, you should bake these ones!

Ingredients

1/2 cup of butter, softened
1/3 cup of sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
12 chocolate kisses
cocoa (optional)
confectioners sugar (optional)

Preparation

In a large bowl or food processor add butter sugar and vanilla. Beat by hand or in the processor till smooth.
Gradually add flour while mixing it. Refrigerate the dough for an hour to firm it up a little.
Pre-Heat oven to 375
Roll into 1 inch balls. Flatten the ball and put a kiss in the middle. pinch the dough up around the kiss.
Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden or to your liking. Let cool and transfer to wire racks.
Sprinkle cocoa, confectioner’s sugar or sprinkles on top of the cookies. You can also keep them plain.
Makes about 1 dozen.

New York City Fashion Week Fall 2014- February 13th

Good Morning! Here in NYC we have declared state of emergency but nothing stops Fashion Week! The shows may be running a bit behind and may not be full but they are still going on. I am watching from the warmth of my living room, thank god for the live stream. Yesterday was a fantastic day, my favorite show of the week is Nanette Lepore. The colors and prints were to die for. I know where I will be heading to get some of my fall fashion pieces for sure. On todays schedule I have already seen Ralph Lauren this morning and the winter whites were extraordinary.
