SJP to launch shoe line

SLP launches shoe line

15 years after making Manolo Blahnik a house hold name, SATC star Sarah Jessica Parker will be launching her own shoe line. I for one being a huge SJP fan, I am ecstatic to hear the news! This has been a long time coming. “In a silly way, I think it’s what people have expected of me most because of Carrie Bradshaw,” Sarah Jessica Parker tells Vogue of her shoe line launching in 2014.

The line will be exclusively sold at Nordstroms department stores. The collection will be called SJP and will include footwear, purses and trench coats. The line will be designed by Sarah Jessica Parker and longtime CEO of Manolo Blahnik, George Malkemus.

“We’re putting new colors together that people don’t typically do, just beautiful combinations that you wish existed in your closet,” she says. “And in terms of bags, thinking about that period of the seventies into the eighties, what those women were carrying, taking away the bells and the whistles and hardware and really making it about the bag.”

Parker adds, “Because I got to play [Carrie Bradshaw], I wore a lot of shoes and be default I learned an enormous amount. It’s hard to walk away from that.”

This will be Parker’s third venture into the fashion industry. SJP is the former creative director for Halston Heritage and she also launched a budget conscious clothing line for the short lived department store, Steve & Barry’s in 2008.
This line will not be for the shopper on a budget. Pumps and flats will range from $200-$300. Bags will run under $700, according to Vogue magazine. Close to the price range that us SATC fans watched Carrie shell out for her shoes! I will definitely be saving my money for the launch of SJP. I can hardly wait to see what she has in store for me and my fellow fashion lovers!SJP to launch shoe line

Inspiring Fashionista of the Week-Sarah Jessica Parker

One of my all time favorite women is Sarah Jessica Parker. I may not agree with some of her wardrobe choices, Sarah Jessica always wears everything with confidence. I love that about her! Living in NYC how could I not pay homage to the quintessential New York City Gal.

Fashion is a part of my work. I feel a responsibility to be presentable, to dress up if the occasion calls for it. But, really, fashion does not play that big a role in my life these days.- Sarah Jessica Parker
