Tuesday Shoesday: SJP Shoes

Happy Tuesday Shoesday everyone! This week was an obvious choice for me the SJP Collection launched on Friday February 28th on the Nordstrom website and in stores. I had been anticipating this collection for months almost as much as I had the Nordstrom pop up shop that was opened up for 3 days to go along with it. Read all about my trip to the SJP Collection Pop Up Shop here. I was able to try on a lot of the shoes and bought 2 pairs. I have to tell you they did not all fit perfectly but what shoe fits perfect on everyone! There are a few pairs I am still dreaming about but I had to limit myself to 2 pairs for the time being! The price range is $195-$500, not as expensive as a pair of Manolos but more expensive than your average pair of heels but these are not your average shoes. These beauties were crafted in Italy and have some beautiful details. Let’s take a look at some of the shoes in the SJP Collection from the lovely Sarah Jessica Parker:

Etta comes in this gorgeous blush pink and a pewter color. Out of all of the shoes this one screamed Sex and the City to me the most!

Diana was named after Princess Diana and this shoe is a new take on the classic Mary Jane. I tried this one on and I loved it. It is on my list of shoes that I can not stop thinking about. Come on this shoe could go with almost anything!

This is Carrie, I do not think I have to mention who this shoe is named after. I went to the shop planning on buying this beauty but alas it was not meant to be. The fit was a little narrow, especially for my pregnant footsies. This gorgeous pair comes in purple, cream and black. Get these babies quick because they are almost a sell out!

Silvia I did not have a chance to try on but looking at them now I wish I had. I love the little bow detailing. This shoe comes in Navy and Coral.

This is Lady, another shoe that I tried on and another one that I LOVE. The color is so striking in person and it is such a classic style.

Fawn is sure to be a shoe staple. This is a basic pump but so well made and fits like a dream. Fawn comes in 4 different colors and be careful because once you try them on you will want all of them!

Another one of my regrets is not grabbing one of the SJP Beekman Grosgrain Clutches. This bag came in 5 colors and I was reassured by the great people at the pop up shop that this bag will be a basic in the collection. That means that I will still be able to get my hands on it!

Good Morning Fashion Lovers! This past Friday February 28th, I had the opportunity to scratch an item off of my NYC bucket list. What NYC gal does not want to meet the Queen of Shoes Ms. Sarah Jessica Parker. I have been eagerly counting down the days and praying that I was not disappointed. I am sure we have all experienced that awful feeling when we have someone built up so high there is no way for them to live up to it. Well I am glad to say this was not the case and the shoes were fantastic as well.

The polar vortex had returned but I was determined that even in my 36th week of pregnancy I was meeting SJP and getting a new pair of shoes at the same time. The -22 temperatures were not going to stop me from waiting in line, no matter how long I had to wait. I arrived and the line was long but not to long to scare me off. The best part of waiting in line was that the great people of Nordstrom were giving out yummy hot chocolate and coffee. I had 2 cups of hot chocolate in the first 15 minutes I was in line. After that I decided to wait because I knew my pregnant bladder would not handle much more and I was not losing my position in line to go find a washroom. While waiting in line I met some SJP fans and caught a glimpse of her through the windows, which made the wait a little more bearable.

After a little over an hour of waiting I finally entered the pop up shop. The shop was gorgeous, very simple decor to show off the fabulous shoes and bags. There were so many happy shoppers there trying on the gorgeous pairs of heels. I was definitely in my element, then I spotted her surrounded by adoring fans.

I took a few photos and then as soon as I unzipped my coat and my huge baby bump was exposed Sarah Jessica noticed me! She immediately sprang to my side, took my coat, handbag, found me a seat and offered me a hot drink since I had been outside so long in my condition. I was shocked my her genuine concern, this lady is a real class act. I reassured her that I was fine but what I really needed was some brand new shoes. She asked me what I had in mind and we went from there. Sarah Jessica made a few suggestions called over one of the sales girls and told them all the shoes that she thought would suit me. I could not have imagined her being so sweet and friendly. She made sure I was all set up and then went to go greet some other people before she left she assured me that she would return to see how I was making out. I was able to search out some photos of this meeting since I could not take pictures of myself! I thank god for Instagram and the fans out there that were snapping shots and posting them that day. Seriously how great is that?

What can I say about the shoes? I loved all of them and I think I tried on about 90% of the styles. Being in my 9th month of pregnancy my feet are a little wider than normal. With that in mind I did find a few of the styles a little narrow for my wide pregnant lady foot! I was torn between a few style Carrie, Ina, Bobbie and Diana. Carrie is a classic strappy heel and I loved the purple color but since it was cutting into my wide foot I decided against it but may change my mind in the future. Bobbie was a gorgeous shoe and I really considered getting her but it was not quite it. Bobbie is a great summer heel and came in mint and coral. Once again I am sure I will change my mind and try to find this shoe later on after the baby is born. Diana is such a classic patent leather mary jane styled show. It was soooo flattering it cut just in the right spot so that it did not make your legs look shorter like a lot of mary jane style do. I decided to go with the beautiful jade colored Ina. This shoe is incredibly comfortable and a real shoe stopper in person.

I was also on the hunt for a more casual sandal that I could rock while walking with my stroller this summer. I tried a couple but fell in love with the simple Wallace style and it came in my favorite leopard print. I was sold!

Once I had made my decisions it was time to make the purchase. SJP was at the cash signing all of the shoe boxes, bottoms of shoes and taking pictures with customers after they had made their shoe purchases. Once I caught up with her she went over my choices and gave me her expert approval. She had originally suggested the Jade for my eyes and I ended up loving it. We chatted about my due date, what I was having (it’s a surprise), and what hospital I was using (Mount Sinai) little fact she told me was that she had her back surgery there. I guess it is true all those high heels can be killer on your back. We took a snap shot and she ordered me to go home and put my feet up for the rest of the day. Which is what I did! Good Afternoon Shoe Lovers!! It is Tuesday Shoesday again. After chatting with some of you and asking what your favorite brand or shoe designer was, Tory Burch was a name that kept coming up. I will admit I still have not caved and purchased a pair of Tory Burch shoes but I look at them often. I love the look of Tory’s flats and contemplate buying them all of the time. With spring coming I may finally find a reason to splurge on a pair for my daily stroller walks. Let’s take a look at some of Tory Burch’s shoe styles:

Countdown to SJP Collection Launch

I do not know if I have ever been so excited for a shoe launch as I am for the SJP Collection launch at Nordstrom. Not only am I excited to go and see the collection up close and personal but I am very excited to get my hands on my own pair. I have been abstaining from shoe shopping just so I can splurge on a pair of these beauties! The prices range from $195.00-$500.00 and include handbags and a trench coat in the collection. So far my eye is on the Carrie Shoe. The Carrie shoe is gorgeous and a very classic style. If it lives up to my shoe fantasy in person then I will be rocking this style all over the city while I walk my baby in my stroller this spring hahaha.

The SJP Collection launch is just not your average shoe launch. Nordstrom is launching this collection is a really fabulous way. There is no Nordstrom in NYC at the moment (I know crazy right?), there will be a SJP pop shop here in NYC to launch the line. The best part is that Sarah Jessica Parker herself will be appearing at the pop up shop to show off the line and help us ladies pick out the perfect shoe. There has been no times set up yet but for more information you can head over to the Nordstrom website.

The SJP collection also has their own Instagram with photos that have been added by SJP herself. On the IG account she has shown off quite a few of the styles. I recommend following her on IG just to see the shoes and she has been counting down to the show launch with the rest of us! I will be updating you on the collection once it launches at the end of this week. If you can not be at one of the stores to see SJP, the line will be available online February 28th at midnight. Tuesday Shoesday- Nine West Sale

Happy Shoesday Tuesday! I received an email alert about great sale prices over at nine west and I wanted to use Shoesday Tuesday to share these great deals with you guys. We are recovering from another storm here in NYC. I have been indoors so there has been a lot of time for online shopping. Shoes are a weakness of mine, hearing of a sale can be very bad when I am trapped in the apartment. I have been looking at the Nine West site and have found some really awesome picks for you guys at great prices. Here is a look at some of my stylish finds:

Shoesday Tuesday- ALDO

Hello shoe lovers! Since it is Tuesday today, you all know it is Tuesday Shoesday! I had asked you guys what your favorite shoe brands were and one that keeps popping up is ALDO. I am also an ALDO fan, they have great styles and affordable prices. Depending on where you are this week it may be frigidly cold. I am not going to start looking at sandals until I can go outside without feeling like I am immediately getting frost bite. I have been looking at boots, boots and more boots. The great thing is that they are on sale right now! The stores need to get rid of the boots to make room for the sandals and I know that I am happy to take some of those boots off their hands! Let’s take a look at some of the fabulous boots I found at ALDO:

HER leather boot is on sale right now for $65.00! Love this all leather boot. It also comes in Cognac and Black.

The SALAZIE bootie would be a cute addition to any shoe collection. It comes in Black, Bordeaux, and Taupe. The Taupe is on sale for $70.00

How cute is the Keana bootie?  This little boot would look amazing with a pair of dark skinny jeans or a pair of leather leggings. It comes in Black Suede or Cognac Suede and is on sale for $55.00. The price is so good you could buy both colors for the price of one!

I love tall boots! Especially knee length or over the knee. The YELLIN boot is suede and comes in Grey and Cognac. The best part is the boot is on sale for $69.99.

Tuesday Shoesday- Free People

Hey guys! It is Tuesday again, that means it is shoesday! It is snowing like crazy here in NYC today. Since it is snowing I am still not in the mind-set to think about sandals just yet. If you read my blog you know how much I love Free People and feature them here on the blog quite often. Free People has some awesome boots and they are of amazing quality. I would not expect anything less from Free People. Here are some of my favorite Free People boots that I have found recently:

I am loving these over the knee lace up boots. Look so cute with a skirt or dress and are perfect to transition into spring! Joe Lace Up Boot

I love this boot. I have featured it here on Nyc Fit Food Fashion before and it has been a fan favorite! It is actually one of my most pinned images. This is the Manchester Tall Boot. This boot is a gorgeous color and I love the worn in look.

The Stahl Wedge Boot is a great pick. It can be worn with so many things and is quite versatile. The side buckles give them so style edge as well.

I do not own a pair of red boots but I think these are absolutely the pair to have. This is the Drazen Mid Boot and it comes in other colors besides red but I just LOVE the red!!

This is the cute Scout + Dixie Ankle Boot. I love these, you can dress them up or dress them down. They also come in a beautiful brown color as well. They look really cute with a skinny jean!

SJP shoe line preview

I love love love love love SJP!! Did I mention I love her! Ok I do not think I have ever been so excited for a shoe launch in my life. I have seen the line on SJP Shoes instagram and it is fantastic. The main problem will be what can I buy and afford because I want them all!!

Workout Wednesday: New Active Wear plus a Workout

Happy workout Wednesday guys!! January is half over and it is time to re-commit to any fitness goals that you had made on New Year’s Eve. I did not make a resolution but just promised myself that this year I would try to be the best me I can be. What promises did you make yourself?

I know once February hits a lot of people fall off of their New Year’s resolutions. With that in mind I was thinking, What can we do to keep motivated this time? How about some new workout wear?

I have been searching the web and have found some cute active wear that may just inspire you to get to the gym just so you can wear it!

The Athleta Zippy Jacket. This jacket is a perfect layering piece for winter workouts and can take you into spring with this gorgeous blue color!

The Vibe Relay Tight is another great piece from the new collection at Athleta. It will go perfectly with the jacket or paired with a cami or tank for in door workouts.

I have always been a Nike girl. I also love leopard print! That makes these Nike Free 5.0 V4 Running Shoes perfect for me. I am thinking black, what about you?

Now that we have motivated our selves with fashion, let’s get our workout going. Here is a workout that you can do pregnant or not. I will be doing this routine 3 times over today. Here are your reps:

• 25 Dumbbell Squats
• 25 Cable Presses
• 25 Leg Curls
• 25 Straight Arm Pulldowns
• Plank 30-60sec

Following my third set, I will be doing 20 minutes of cardio (elliptical or treadmill). After cardio I will be doing some stretches for my cool down. What are your plans for Workout Wednesday?
